Can you find a use for this in the kitchen?

Maybe because I am attracted to things that are bright and sparkly, but I received an email today showcasing this lighting product, so I thought I’d write it up.

It’s an LED-based pop-up task light available through Doug Mockett & Co. that rises out of a slot in a surface (such as a desk or even a countertop) when needed and lowers out of sight when not.

Automatically activated when its 8 1/2-in. (roughly) x 2 7/16-in. x 1/2-in. cap is lifted, the fixture initially extends 4 1/2 in. but can be pulled up to 21 in. and maneuvered in any direction, thanks to a pair of telescoping arms. For additional convenience, it comes with a pair of sockets.
