Inside a Designer Showhouse

Serenbe’s Designer Showhouse has been open since Sept. 9, but we’ve been so busy at KBB, we were just recently able to scoot over for a tour. Twelve designers and firms outfitted a penthouse loft apartment at the Textile Lofts for this year’s show house, which was presented by Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. Ryan Duffey and Jeremy Griffin of J. Ryan Duffey Architect were the architects, and the developers were Adam Ross of Sunrise West and Kim King Associates.

There were several spaces I liked in the loft, but my favorites were the outdoor eating and entertaining areas and a lounge-like room with a huge couch for napping or reading. Everywhere I looked, there was a door leading to another outdoor niche in the fourth-floor apartment.

The outdoor dining porch (above) by Bjork Studio & Kolo Collection with Sunbrella was the ideal place to host a special occasion. There were plenty of seating areas depending on if shade or sun was needed.

The open floor plan included a sizable kitchen (above) and great room combo. Scout for the Home was in charge of the kitchen, which incorporated some open shelving and a wonderful piece of warm wood hiding the hood. The great room (below), with ample windows and natural light, was designed by Wolf Design Group and SWOOX.

Living Room

I also loved the keeping room (below) for its lounge-like appearance; it just called to me. Dixon Rye hit the nail on the head in this space.

The master suite, which included a bathroom and bedroom, was designed by Robuck.

The powder and laundry rooms were designed by Anna Braund.

Steve McKenzie made the most of a slightly narrow entry hall with rich green and gold hues.

Contributing sponsors included Authentic Reclaimed Flooring, Thermador, Holland Interiors, LG Hausys, Porcelanosa, Renaissance Tile Stone Bath, Venture Shuffleboard, Miami Circle Marble & Fabrication, MTI and Kingdom Woodworks.
